alpha-2-HS-Glycoprotein

A fetuin subtype that is synthesized by HEPATOCYTES and secreted into the circulation. It plays a major role in preventing CALCIUM precipitation in the BLOOD.
Also Known As:
AHSG Protein; Fetuin-A; alpha(2) HS Glycoprotein; alpha-2HS Glycoprotein; alpha2HS Glycoprotein; Fetuin A; alpha 2 HS Glycoprotein; alpha 2HS Glycoprotein; alpha2 Heremans-Schmid Glycoprotein

07/31/2022 - "Results showed that compared with the control group, the expression of mir-29a-5p and sclerostin in the study group was higher, and the expression of fetuin-A was lower, the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05); The expression of mir-29a-5p, sclerostin and fetuin-A in calcified group was higher than that in non-calcified group, and the expression of fetuin-A was lower (P < 0.05); Mir-29a-5p and sclerostin showed positive correlation (r=6.776, P=0.011); The expression of mir-29a-5p and fetuin-A showed negative correlation (r=-5.326, P=0.001); The expression of mir-29a-5p and sclerostin showed negative correlation (r=-9.677, P=0.001); Mir-29a-5p and sclerostin were positively correlated with vascular calcification (r=0.695, P=0.001; r=0.715, P=0.001), and fetuin-A was positively correlated with vascular calcification (r = -0.953, P = 0.001). "
12/01/2017 - "The main purpose of this study was evaluating the correlation between fetuin-A and PTX3 with some biochemical parameters effective upon vascular calcification in HD patients. "
01/01/2016 - "Large controlled studies are needed to establish the role of fetuin-A in vascular calcification in Indian population. "
05/01/2011 - "This study investigated the relationships between fetuin-A, vascular calcification, and outcome in such patients. "
01/01/2008 - "Among these mediators, studies on fetuin-A deserve further attention as clinical studies consistently show that fetuin-A deficiency is associated with vascular calcification, all-cause and cardiovascular mortality in CKD patients. "
