Transcription Factor 4

A basic helix-loop-helix leucine zipper transcription factor that functions in neuronal CELL DIFFERENTIATION. It dimerizes with other bHLH transcription factors and activates transcription through binding to E-BOX ELEMENTS containing 5'-ACANNTGT-3' or 5'-CCANNTGG-3' sequences. Mutations in the TCF-4 gene are associated with Pitt-Hopkins Syndrome, a severe developmental disorder.
Also Known As:
TCF-4 Protein; TCF-4 Transcription Factor; TCF4 Transcription Factor; TCF 4 Protein; TCF 4 Transcription Factor; Transcription Factor, TCF-4; Transcription Factor, TCF4

02/01/2014 - "Cisplatin promoted self-renewal and survival of CSCs in vitro, as seen by an increase in the number of orospheres in ultralow attachment plates and induction in B lymphoma Mo-MLV insertion region 1 homolog (Bmi-1) and octamer-binding transcription factor 4 expression. "
11/19/2019 - "The most frequently activated pathways in eCSC are Wingless-INT (Wnt)/β-catenin, Notch1, and Hedghog, with a high expression of self-renewal transcription factors like Octamer binding transcription factor 4 (OCT), B Lymphoma Mo-MLV Insertion Region 1 Homolog (BMI1), North American Network Operations Group Homebox protein (NANOG), and SRY-Box 2 (SOX2). "
01/01/2018 - "Western blot analysis indicated that IDB increased the expression of B‑cell lymphoma 2 (Bcl‑2), signal transducer and activator of transcription‑3, Nanog, octamer‑binding transcription factor 4, E‑cadherin, proliferating cell nuclear antigen, cyclinD1 and cyclinD3, and decreased the expression of Bcl‑2‑associated X protein, cleaved caspase‑3, N‑cadherin, vimentin and α‑smooth muscle actin. "
08/15/2023 - "Also, cotadutide enhanced transcriptional factors related to islet cell transdifferentiation, decreasing aristaless-related homeobox and increasing the paired box 4 and 6, pancreatic and duodenal homeobox 1, v-maf musculoaponeurotic fibrosarcoma oncogene family protein A, neurogenin 3, and neurogenic differentiation 1. In addition, cotadutide improved the proliferating cell nuclear antigen, NK6 homeobox 1, B cell leukemia/lymphoma 2, but lessening caspase 3. Furthermore, cotadutide mitigated the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress-responsive genes, reducing transcription factor 4, DNA-damage-inducible transcript 3, and growth arrest and DNA-damage-inducible 45.
