[Isolated spontaneous dissection of the superior mesenteric artery].

Abstract	We report the case of a 57-year old man suffering from acute abdominal cramps. Abdominal computed tomography (CT) scanner revealed an isolated dissection of the superior mesenteric artery. The pain decreased within a few days under conservative treatment and monitoring by angioscans showed a stabilization of the dissection. This clinical case report is accompanied by a literature review on this rare pathology.
