Solute Carrier Family 12

Inorganic cation-chloride cotransporters mediating the movement of inorganic SODIUM and/or POTASSIUM cations, coupled to the movement of CHLORIDE anions. The solute carrier 12 (SLC12) family can be divided into Na+-dependent SLC12A1-A3 (NKCC1, NKCC2, and NCC) and Na+-independent SLC12A4-A7 (KCC1-KCC4).
