[Comparative open randomized trial of tiapride and floctafenine in back pain (author's transl)].

Abstract

The activity and tolerance of tiapride and floctafenine in 30 patients with back pain were compared by means of an open multicentre randomized trial. Dosage was 300 mg daily for tiapride and 200 mg daily for floctafenine and treatment was administered for between 3 and 4 weeks. The results demonstrated that tiapride is more active than floctafenine for the treatment of rheumatic pains having a psychic component, while floctafenine is best indicated for pain of purely mechanical origin.
