4-toluene sulfonate methyl monooxygenase
catalyzes the transformation of toluene sulfonate or p-toluate to the corresponding alcohol & the methyl side-chain to the corresponding acid in the presence of O2 & NADH; p- & m- toluates & 4-ethylbenzoate are substrates, whereas p-xylene, toluene & p-cresol are not substrates; enzyme also catalyzes the demethylation of 4-methoxybenzoate to 4-hydroxybenzoate & formaldehyde; comprises reductase B & oxygenase M
